Regents' Education Policy Committee Looks at New Programs, Enrollment Projections, March 12

ADELPHI, Md. (March 7, 2008) - The Committee on Education Policy of the University System of Maryland (Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ) Board of Regents will meet Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Bowie State University (BSU). The public meeting will convene at 9:30 a.m. in the Special Collections Room on the second floor of the Thurgood Marshall Library.

Action items before the committee include:

  • Board of Regents statement of guidance on the development of graduate programs concerning the environment;
  • New academic program proposals for a B.S. in information technology and B.S. in nursing at Frostburg State University; and a M.S. and Ph.D. in environmental science and technology at the University of Maryland, College Park.

In addition, the committee will receive reports on the system's P-20 initiatives, campus crime statistics, enrollment projections for 2008-2017, extramural funding, and the racial and gender distribution of faculty at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ institutions.
